What's going on in Assam?
-Assam is fighting a double battle against Covid-19 and floods.
-About 76-80 people have died (I'm unsure about the number as distinct news sources have stated different numbers)
-Over 34 lakh people in 26 districts of Assam have been affected.
-According to Assam disaster management, around 4000 villages are under flood waters.
-Over 80% of Kaziranga National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) has been submerged. A lot of wild animals have died.
-Brahmaputra, Jia Bharali and Kopili rivers are flowing above danger levels in many districts.
